We’re not like a regular neighborhood, we’re a cool neighborhood

There’s more to Shoreline than you think. Other than being home to Sasquatch (Shhh. He likes his privacy), Shoreline has 3.4 miles of gorgeous beaches, 3.25 miles of interurban bike trail, 400 acres of city parks, and we’re just 20 minutes from downtown Seattle. Beat that, concrete jungle.

Location, Location, Location

We’re more central than you think. Shoreline is just a 10-mile commute from downtown Seattle, which you can get to by bike, bus, or Paceline’s free ride service, in addition to you know, driving your own car. Also, if you head a mere 20 miles in any direction, you’ll hit the following little known (you’ve probably never heard of any of them) destinations: Pike Place Market, University of Washington, Microsoft’s Redmond campus, Sea-Tac Airport, Paine Field/Boeing, Amazon’s campus in South Lake Union, multiple ferry terminals, multiple hospitals, downtown Bellevue and Everett, nationally renowned museums, and of course, the very best dining and shopping.

Get Outside!

With 3.4 miles of Puget Sound shoreline, 400 acres of city parks, hiking, fitness areas, ball fields, a skate park, three off leash dog parks (hey, dogs need green spaces, too), and those bike trails we keep talking about, there’s plenty of reasons to get out and explore your city. We also keep things healthy, clean, and green with pesticide free parks, and our designation as Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Do you feel that? It’s the soft caress of the sea breeze because you live in Shoreline, not an urban jungle. In addition to being a leader in green spaces, sustainability measures, and urban forestry, we were also named Recycler of the Year by the state Recycling Association and a King County leader in pesticide reduction.

Do Stuff

Do you like farmer’s markets? How about food trucks? Art? Yeah, we have all that and more. With over 40 annual (did we mention they’re mostly free?) events and festivals, plus ongoing theatrical and musical productions at Shoreline Community College, we keep things interesting year round. The farmers market is a quick 5 minute walk from us too!

You Belong Here

We’re also not a homogenous bunch. In Shoreline, we welcome and celebrate diversity of all kinds—everyone is welcome here. We also celebrate diversity of interests. The outdoors not your thing? You can still stay active with Shoreline’s award-winning recreation classes for all ages and abilities and at Paceline’s 24/7 fitness loft.
